Police search for driver of fatal hit-and-run in The Hague

A hit-and-run at the Reigersbergenweg in The Hague resulted in one fatality on Tuesday morning. The driver involved in the incident sped off after he had struck the 51-year-old man. Police are currently searching for the driver and have asked any witnesses to come forward.

Police received a report that a victim with severe injuries had been found at 5:10 a.m. The investigation conducted by the police shows that the man had been hit by a car. The victim died of his injuries at the hospital.

The identity of the driver is unknown at this time. Police are not only requesting eyewitnesses come forward but also anyone who may have camera footage or dashcam footage of the incident. The investigation was conducted by the Forensische Opsporing Verkeer team, an investigation team specialized in traffic related incidents.

“Any clue, no matter how small, can help to clarify what happened,” a police spokesman said to the AD.
