Matthew Potts replaces Jamie Overton
After a dominant victory in the series opener, the England National Cricket Team will take on the Men in Maroon in the second ODI game on Sunday, June 1, at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
Star all-rounder Jamie Overton will not be able to take part in the second ODI game as well as the remainder of the white-ball series against the West Indies. He has broken his right little finger, which will keep him out of action for quite some time.
Jamie Overton has been replaced by pacer Matthew Potts for the second game. Meanwhile, Ben Duckett will continue to open with Jamie Smith, and Joe Root will be coming to bat at No.3.
Skipper Harry Brook will take the No.4 spot, followed by former captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler at the No.5. All-rounders Jacob Bethell, Will Jacks, and Brydon Carse are the next in the line-up. Also, the veteran leg-spinner Adil Rashid and Saqib Mahmood complete the playing XI.
“New England Men’s white-ball captain Harry Brook has been forced into one change after Jamie Overton was ruled out of the remainder of the series with a broken right little finger. Matthew Potts has been selected to come in as his replacement and is set to make his 10th ODI appearance for England,” the ECB said in the statement.
