India National Cricket Team batter Shreyas Iyer came up with a decent hand with the bat in the ongoing game against the New Zealand National Cricket Team. The last group stage game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Shreyas Iyer played a magical hand with the bat when India National Cricket Team was left tottering at 30/3. The middle-order batter, along with Axar Patel (42), led the rescue charge with the bat to bring the team in the back, adding 98 runs for the fourth wicket.
Shreyas Iyer soaked in all the pressure and played the spinners magnificently. The batter first attacked the fast bowlers and, after that, didn’t let the spinners settle at all. He showed precise footwork and made sure that he ticked the scoreboard as well, taking the team past 150 runs with ease.
Shreyas Iyer slammed a solid half-century as he continued his golden touch with the bat. The India National Cricket Team batter slammed his second consecutive half-century of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and once again proved why he is rated as the best no.4 batter of India.
Shreyas Iyer was looking all set for a big knock but New Zealand National Cricket Team played with his ego. The Kiwi bowlers came up with the short ball ploy, and the middle order batter fell into the trap and ended up giving his wicket at the crucial stage.
William O’Rourke rushed Shreyas Iyer with the short ball, that was on off. The batter spliced it, and his bottom hand came off, too, as the pace forced him into a mistake. The ball went high in the air, and Will Young from mid-wicket went back and, despite a juggle, took a brilliant catch to send the batter packing.
What caught the attention of many was the reaction of New Zealand National Cricket Team skipper Mitchell Santner. The all-rounder was delighted after his plan paid off as he winked at his bowler and passed on an evil smile.
