Canada’s Eliot Grondin earned World Cup silver in the men’s snowboard cross on Saturday. Grondin finished behind Germany’s Leon Ulbricht and ahead of Nick Baumgartner of the United States on the podium.

Canada’s Eliot Grondin earned a World Cup silver medal at a men’s snowboard cross competition on Saturday in Erzurum, Turkey.

Grondin finished behind Germany’s Leon Ulbricht and ahead of Nick Baumgartner of the United States on the podium.

The Sainte-Marie, Que., native was the top qualifier on Friday entering Saturday’s final.

It’s the second World Cup medal of the season for the 23-year-old Grondin.

Eliot Grondin’s back-to-back wins in Beidahu propel him to the top of the world cup overall standings.

He earned gold on Feb. 2 in China.
