India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli is back in the team for the second ODI against the England National Cricket Team. The penultimate game of the series between the teams is all set to take place at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
Virat Kohli missed the first game of the series in Nagpur due to a knee injury but has now been deemed fit to join the team. The right-hander walked straight into the XI and replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made his debut in the first match but couldn’t make a bigger impact.
As India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma at the toss announced that Virat Kohli was back, what caught the attention was the reaction of the crowd. The fans in the stadium went berserk and cheered loudly as they learned about the development.

Speaking at the toss, Rohit Sharma talked about the performance from the last game, saying that it was a good outing and also lauded the team for their energy. The captain was in awe of knocks by Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill. He explained:
“It was a good performance in the first game. That’s what I loved about it. The energy was very good despite not being on the field for a while. It was superb to watch after losing two wickets.
“Shreyas prides himself on that intent and attitude and not to forget the contributions of Shubman and Axar as well. Black soil pitch, not sure. Maybe play on the slower side, that’s what I expect. Two changes, Jaiswal makes way for Virat. Kuldeep is rested so Varun makes his debut.”
